1/4 cup honey
1/2 cup warm water
1 egg, well beaten
1/4 cup butter,melted
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 1/2 cups all purpose flour
1 teaspoon butter (to grease bowl)
1 Tablespoon butter (to grease pan)

Filling
2 Tablespoons butter, at room temperature
1/4 cup brown sugar
2 teaspoons cinnamon

Topping
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup light corn syrup
6 Tablespoons butter
3 Tablespoons honey
3/4 cup chopped walnuts

Directions

Dough

Dissolve the yeast and one teaspoon of the honey in warm water in a bowl.

Let stand for about 10 minutes, until foamy.

Stir in remaining honey with a wooden spoon.

With the wooden spoon stir in the egg and melted butter, then stir the salt into the flour, and stir the dry ingredients into the wet. Mix by hand until smooth.

Add the remaining flour, stir until a soft dough forms.

Remove from the bowl onto a floured surface and knead until smooth, about 2 minutes.

Have a little extra flour nearby to sprinkle into the dough if it becomes sticky. Form into a ball.

Grease a bowl with 2 teaspoon butter and place the dough into the bowl. Cover with plastic wrap and let

rise 1 1/2 to 2 hours, until doubled.

Prepare the pan and set aside.

Brush a 13x9x2 inch baking pan with the 1 tablespoon of melted butter.

Filling

Punch down the dough and roll dough on a lightly floured surface to make a 20by12 inch rectangle.

Brush with rectangle with butter.

In a small bowl, mix the sugar and cinnamon together.

Sprinkle the mixture onto the rectangle.

Roll up forming a log from long side.

Cut into 20 (1-inch) slices.

Arrange slices in pan, 4 across and 5 long, evenly spaced.

Cover the buns and let rise about one hour until doubled.

Preheat oven to 350F.

Place the buns into the oven and bake 30 minutes, until golden brown.

Remove and place on a cooling pad and while they are cooling a little, make the topping.

Topping

Using a saucepan over low to medium heat, stir together the brown sugar, syrup and butter. Cook stirring until the mixture is smooth.

Remove from the heat and add the honey.

Spoon onto the cooked buns and sprinkle on the chopped nuts.

These are extra yummy if you eat them warm.
